Thomasville City Schools has partnered with the Second Harvest of South Georgia to provide meals for students and children in the community next week (Spring Break). Meal distribution will be Monday-Thursday from 11am-1pm, (April 6th-9th) at Thomasville High School (gym parking lot). Meal Distribution is Drive-Thru only.
Second Harvest of South Georgia will be hosting a mobile food distribution at Thomas County Central High School Friday morning, April 3rd at 8:00 A.M. No proof of income is required. Boxes will be available while supplies last. Please help us share this information with those who may need food assistance during this time of crisis.
Dear Thomasville City Schools Community,
A few minutes ago, Gov. Brian Kemp announced an Executive Order that all public schools in Georgia are closed for in-person instruction through the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. We know it is difficult to process that Thomasville City Schools will be closed for in-person instruction the rest of this school year. However, this statewide closing is crucial for public health and safety.
Below are important updates as a result of this announcement.
Distance Learning
Distance learning will continue. We will have more information regarding grading in the future. Our administrative team has been and will continue to work in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Education and the Governor's Office of Student Achievement.
Meal Service
TCS will continue providing meal service at this point. Meal Service will not be provided during Spring Break.
Graduation
If at all possible, our goal is to hold graduation at a later date. We will continue working on multiple plans to make graduation the best it can possibly be given the circumstances. To the Class of 2020: we are especially thinking of you and know this is a difficult way to end your senior year.
This is a difficult time in our nation’s history and I urge each of you to continue to socially distance and help contain the spread of COVID-19. Each of us has the ability to make a positive impact in the interest of public health. We know the upcoming spring break is not what any of us had in mind but we do hope you will be able to take a break from academics and focus on time with your family.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to your principal if you have a specific need during this time.

MARCH 27TH UPDATE ON STUDENT MEAL SERVICE DURING COVID-19 SCHOOL CLOSURE
Dear Thomasville City Schools Community,
Earlier today, Governor Brian Kemp announced school closures would be extended through April 24 with a return date for students on Monday, April 27. We are working diligently on a plan that is best for our students and families in regard to meals and academics. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
Good Evening. Tomorrow, March 26th, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, will be the last opportunity to pick up a Chromebook, if needed.
SCHOOL CLOSURE EXTENDED UNTIL MONDAY, APRIL 13
Based on Governor Kemp’s executive order announced on March 23, the Thomasville City Schools is planning to open no sooner than Monday, April 13. Spring Break will remain as scheduled, April 6-10. We will continue to follow the Governor's recommendations and orders regarding any future school closure extensions. Please continue to check our website and social media for continued updates.
