Greetings MPMS Students, Staff, Parents and Community Stakeholders,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!
It is with much enthusiasm that I welcome our students back to what will be a very exciting and ambitious school year. As the new principal of MacIntyre Park Middle School, I am humbled and delighted to have been chosen to lead this remarkable school in the wonderful city of Thomasville!
To our new and returning students, I ask that you prepare for an exciting and engaging school year! Our staff is purposely planning continuously to educate and challenge your creative minds to limits unimaginable. As your leader, my goal is to equip you intellectually, close the attitude gap, and expose you to greatness from our school and community so that you may be inspired to set goals that may exceed all expectations. At MPMS, failure is never an option and will not be accepted at any time. Everyone is family and will be treated as such. MPMS is a special place because of you.
I encourage all parents to continue to be purposely engaged in your child’s education by making sure he or she attends school daily and on time, identify a quiet area for them to study, ask them about specific content areas and what they learned for the day, check grades on the parent portal, and communicating with teachers on a regular basis. We will hold quarterly parent engagement meetings where you will meet with your child’s teacher to review data from benchmark assessments and have input on quarterly goal planning. I will also schedule parent collaboration meetings that will give you strategies on how you can help your child at home. There will also be time for you to provide feedback on how we are doing as a school to prepare your child to be college and career ready.
Community stakeholders, your participation in our school is vital. Because we are preparing students to be college and career ready, I welcome you to serve as mentors and sponsors for our many initiatives that we have.
In conclusion, because my number one priority is to ensure that our students are growing academically, the majority of my day will be spent in classrooms ensuring that “world class” teaching and learning is occuring on an ongoing basis. If you would like to schedule a meeting, I ask that you please call the school or email me in advance. With everyone’s active engagement, we will move MacIntyre Park Middle to higher heights! I look forward to working with each and every one of you!
